GRAEF kitchen knives
The multiperformer in the kitchen
From the sturdy crust of the breakfast buns to fresh vegetables for the poke bowl to fish or meat for the three-course dinner - the new knife series offers the perfect blade for every cut. Vegetable, santoku, chef's and bread knive are all Solingen originals - hand-ground and blue-peened.
Thanks to the excellent blade quality, they ensure maximum sharpness and corrosion resistance in every kitchen. The four knives combine unique precision, long cutting durability and elegant design - for optimal cutting performance, from breakfast to dinner.
The perfect complement in the world of fine cuts
Hard bread crusts, thick pumpkin peelings or ripe tomatoes - passionate hobby chefs can now look forward to four first-class kitchen knives from GRAEF. We rely on the best quality - "made in Germany" - or more precisely on excellent blade quality from specialists in Solingen. There, the knife blades are ground by hand and blue-peened. Blue-peening is the perfection of the Solingen grinding craft, whereby the steel is ground finer step by step. Such blades are recognisable by their bluish sheen.
The robust blades made of 1.4116 stainless steel with a blade thickness of 2.3 to 2.5 mm guarantee maximum sharpness, long edge retention and high corrosion resistance. The GRAEF knives glide through food of all kinds with high precision, almost as if by themselves. In addition, the blades are easy to resharpen thanks to this processing method - a long service life of the kitchen gadgets is therefore guaranteed with regular sharpening.
Up to any cutting task
With the new GRAEF knife series, tasting is assured from the first meal of the day to the last bite in the evening.
The small vegetable knife with a 9 cm blade is ideal for chopping and peeling fruit and vegetables - so grapes, apples and mandarins end up in the morning cereal in no time and tender tomato and cucumber slices on cheese sandwiches.
With its 13 cm blade, the Santoku knife is a real all-rounder: vegetables, meat and fish can be cut precisely - perfect for a colourful summer salad with chicken breast strips, for example.
The large chef's knife and its 20 cm blade can not only be used to cut all kinds of food, but also to chop herbs and crush peppercorns. The tip of the knife is shaped so that precision work such as dicing onions is also possible. All in all, a multi-talent that can be used to chop an entire dinner menu.
A must in every kitchen is also a bread knife. The GRAEF bread knife with its 20 cm serrated blade glides easily through freshly baked bread and crispy bread crusts.
Design & function
Apart from their functionality, the GRAEF kitchen knives are distinguished by their modern design. The dynamic shape and the handle made of fine walnut (black walnut) give the kitchen knives a beautifully shaped aesthetic. The stainless steel end cap in typical GRAEF wankel shape completes the noble look. The ergonomically balanced handle not only looks good, but also ensures a secure, controlled grip when cutting.
Another highlight: the seamless finish makes cleaning a child's play. To maintain quality and longevity, the knives should always be washed by hand and sharpened regularly.
By the way, the new kitchen knives from GRAEF are available individually or as a set of three, consisting of a vegetable knife, santoku knife and chef's knife.
Questions & Answers - Kitchen knife KN500 series (FAQs)
-
How can I clean my kitchen knife?
Ideally, you should clean the blade of your GRAEF kitchen knife by hand directly after use (especially when cutting acidic foods) with a mild detergent and a soft sponge or cloth.
The knife handle made of real wood should only come into minimal contact with water or cleaner when cleaning, or should not be placed in water, as the wooden handle can otherwise bend open.
The knife should then be rinsed with clean water and dried with a soft cloth.
-
Can I clean the Graef kitchen knives in the dishwasher?
No, the GRAEF knives should not be put in the dishwasher. In principle, cleaning in the dishwasher can damage high-quality knives, especially the real wood handle, and should therefore be avoided. The salts and chemicals present in the dishwasher cause increased wear to the blade and handle.
-
How can I care for the knife?
The GRAEF kitchen knife can be optimally cared for by applying neutral vegetable oil (e.g. sunflower or rapeseed oil) or camellia oil to the knife handle and blade. Do not use olive oil for care, as it can go rancid.
-
How can I sharpen my Graef kitchen knife?
For a sharp knife blade at all times, we recommend regular sharpening with our knife sharpeners.
You can find extensive information about the different knife blades and our sharpening technologies here...
-
Where is the best place to store my kitchen knives?
Your GRAEF kitchen knives should be safely stored, but quickly accessible in the kitchen. You can either store them in a knife block, on a wooden magnetic bar or in a matching wooden drawer insert.
-
Which chopping boards are suitable for kitchen knives?
Ideally, you should cut your food on cutting boards made of wood (wood has an antibacterial effect) or high-quality plastic.
Materials such as marble, stainless steel or glass, on the other hand, are not suitable, as these can severely damage the blade of the kitchen knife.
-
What wood was used for the knife handle?
Our knives are equipped with a real wood handle made of high-quality walnut (black walnut). Walnut is one of the most exclusive woods and at the same time an environmentally friendly alternative to tropical wood.
-
What material is the knife blade made of?
The blades of the GRAEF kitchen knives are made of robust 1.4116 stainless steel and have a blade thickness of 2.3 to 2.5 mm. This high-quality blade steel guarantees maximum sharpness, long cutting life and high corrosion resistance and thus ensures a long-lasting product in your kitchen.
